About
Hi, I'm Christina Clayton. I was born and grew up on the Isle of Man, and after living in the UK for over ten years, it's where I've chosen to build my work and my life.'
I've been fascinated by the human body for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was a 'bendy kid' — naturally flexible, always moving, endlessly curious about how everything worked beneath the skin. I didn't know then that this curiosity would become a lifelong vocation.
“Movement is medicine. The body knows how to heal - we help it remember.”
Twenty years ago I began teaching yoga — initially drawn in purely by the movement, with no idea of the breathing practices, the philosophy, or the profound science that underpins it all. That discovery lit something in me that's never gone out. I trained in Iyengar tradition inspired yoga with Ruth White, completing a 500-hour qualification, and went on to study Scaravelli yoga, pregnancy yoga with Sitaram, and further anatomy and movement trainings that deepened my understanding of how bodies actually work — and why they sometimes stop working the way we'd like.
My path into clinical bodywork and nutrition came, as it often does, through loss. When my Dad died from cancer, I needed to understand more — about health, about the body, about what we can do to support it. I trained as a Nutritional Therapist with the College of Naturopathic Medicine, and qualified as a Massage Therapist at the same time. Over the following years I added Zero Strain massage, TMJ therapy, and in 2023 completed my Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage training with the Jing Institute — one of the most rigorous and evidence-based approaches to clinical bodywork available.
All of that — twenty years plus of yoga, fifteen years of massage, a deep grounding in nutrition and anatomy — comes into the room with every client I see.
Who I Work Best With
I love working with people who are curious about their own bodies and health. You don't need to arrive knowing anything — but I do find the most rewarding work happens with people who want to understand what's going on, not just have something done to them.
If you've been struggling for a while, if the quick fixes haven't worked, if you're ready to look at the bigger picture — movement, bodywork, lifestyle, all of it — then we're probably a good fit.
Body Moves isn't about a single session that solves everything. It's about building a real understanding of your body and what it needs, so you can move freely and live well — for the long term.
